Candidates apply in Year 8 for Year 9 entry and must meet the official eligibility criteria. ACER manages applications and offers on behalf of the Department of Education. Consult ACER application instructions for the relevant intake rather than using the old application links in the archive below.

Victoria's Selective Entry High Schools
All four schools use the same entrance exam and accept students for Year 9 entry:
- Melbourne High School (boys only), South Yarra
- The Mac.Robertson Girls' High School (girls only), Melbourne
- Nossal High School (all genders), Berwick
- Suzanne Cory High School (all genders), Werribee

Applying for Year 9 entry in 2023
Applications for entry into a Selective Entry High School in 2023 are open. To apply, complete the online application form.
The examination is scheduled for 23 July 2022 at the Melbourne Showgrounds.

About selective entry high schools
Victorian Selective Entry High Schools provide for academically high-achieving students in years 9 to 12.
These schools are:
- Melbourne High School (boys only) in South Yarra.
- The Mac.Robertson Girls' High School (girls only) in Melbourne.
- Nossal High School (all genders) in Berwick.
- Suzanne Cory High School (all genders) in Werribee.
